Hey, ya'll!  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by and look around.  While you're here, let me introduce myself. 

My name is Amanda Henderson. I am a lover of music (loud), singing, playing guitar, laughing (loud), decorating, DIYing, writing, and making stuff with my hands.  I am bookworm, a self-proclaimed nerd, and a follower of Jesus. I call south Alabama home, and am the wife of a loving husband, Jared, and the proud mom to two beautiful girls, Katlyn  and Ashlyn. 

Our last family portrait session....the one where I realized a change was needed for my health. 

 For the past eight years, I have been a stay-at-home-mom.  One with an "I MUST create" mechanism so deeply programmed in my brain, there is just no escaping it!  As I've sought to create a home my husband and children love to be in, I found something out about myself-----I adore design, decorating, and DIY projects!  It has become a passion, hobby, and creative outlet that I enjoy.

 Seeking to make my home a warm, inviting place is so much more to me than just how it looks or what others will think when they see it.  It's about creating an environment my husband loves to come home to.  It's making a place where my girls feel secure so they can thrive.  It's about cultivating more than just my passions. It's about cultivating relationships! 

Cultivate Create is about more than just decorating and design. It's about cultivating a better you, a better life. I also open up about my struggle with weight as I try to get healthy. I am cultivating me, creating a healthy lifestyle for my family. 

Whether it's remodeling a kitchen or painting parquet floors, or updating some thrift store find (I'm definitely a bargain shopper),  or learning more about nutrition and fitness, I want to share with you what I am learning on this adventure.  I would love for you to come along with me on the journey! It was a true pleasure having Amanda here to make our place beautiful! What started out (I thought) was a little help with decorating because of the time frame and what I had to do. Well...it turned out that I had nothing to do! You see, I was in the bed for 6 days while Amanda was here "helping" me. I was able to do nothing to "help" lol! It was so nice to know that a sweet little elf was busy making our home beautiful for the holidays! And beautiful it is!
